Nineteen (19) new confirmed coronavirus cases and one new death in Greece were announced on Saturday July 18 2020, by the National Public Health Organization (EODY) in the last 24 hours, with no new infections identified at entry points to Greece.
The total number of cases so far since the pandemic’s outbreak in Greece totals 3,983 of whom 54,7% are men. Of these, 1,088 are related to travel abroad, 2,044 to a known case and the rest are of indeterminate cause.
No deaths announced today. Fatalities from Covid-19 in Greece have now reached 194. The median age of the deceased was 76 years, and most had underlying issues.
A total of 12 individuals are at intensive care units currently; 91,7% of these are men.
All passengers from UK tested on July 15-16 were negative for Covid-19, sources report
Meanwhile, all passengers who arrived on direct flights from the United Kingdom on July 15-16 have so far tested negative for Covid-19, government sources reported on Saturday. It said 1,366 tests were carried out on July 15 and another 1,437 tests on July 16.
These results included two flights from Birmingham and Manchester, respectively, where there is a relatively high incidence of the disease.
Two positive samples were collected from passengers arriving on transit flights from the UK via Paris and Larnaca airports, whose contacts have been traced and isolated, the sources added.
